I remember, many years ago I once went for confession to a very old priest who was my friend. That day he told me about something that I had never heard before. He explained How God, The Hound of Heaven, follows a deer (a sinner), who is moving away from him.

The Hound of Heaven
I fled Him, down the nights and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways
Of my own mind; and in the mist of tears
I hid from Him, and under running laughter.
Up vistaed hopes I sped;
And shot, precipitated,
Adown Titanic glooms of chasmèd fears,
From those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
But with unhurrying chase,
And unperturbéd pace,
Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
They beat—and a Voice beat
More instant than the Feet—
“All things betray thee, who betrayest Me.”

Poem by Francis Thompson

G.K. Chesterton called it the greatest poem in modern English. I fled the Hound of Heaven, and grace is a story of His pursuit of me, while I ran and hid from Him.

A great danger in today's world is that people are loosing awareness of their sins. In our terrible rush in our lives, we very often fail to see our own mistakes, and the sufferings of our neighbours. Another equally dangerous thing is the loosing of the awareness that there is an omnipotent God who created and loves us, and we fail to respond to his voice in our day today lives. When we People see that to believe in God we have to pay a price,do you know what we do? We 'KILL' our God. If there is no God then we can live whichever way we want. Nobody to question! Thus many became athiests and agnostics. They don't want to 'see' what they see in front of them.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, recognize that this can be a trap of the devil. Let us not fall in his pit. Instead let us aknowledge God's existence and surrender only to our Lord God who needs our Love and Obedience. When we do this sincerely, We will see his mysterios hands becoming clear in our spiritual life.

Oh Lord I Trust only in You
Oh Lord Have Mercy on Me
Oh Lord Make me your instrument of Peace,
Unworthy a creature I am, a Sinner.

IF YOU HAVE SINNED

"Have mercy on me, God, in your goodness;
in your abundant compassion blot out my offense.
Wash away all my guilt; from my sin cleanse me.
For I know my offense; my sin is always before me.
Against you alone have I sinned;
I have done such evil in your sight
That you are just in your sentence, blameless when you condemn.
True, I was born guilty, a sinner, even as my mother conceived me.
Still, you insist on sincerity of heart; in my inmost being teach me wisdom.
Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure;
wash me, make me whiter than snow.
Let me hear sounds of joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice."

-Psalm 51

"I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance." - Luke 15: 7

"I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents." - Luke 15: 10

The Parable of the Prodigal Son

This parable clearly explains the love of Our heavenly father for us sinners, his children. So if ever we happen to sin against him, we should not hesitate to at once repend (truly feel sorry at heart) and after making decision to never commit sin again, come back to God our merciful father. The truth is that the majority of us don't have the time or goodwill to do this most important thing in our lives, and
what if we go out and get hit by a car and die on the spot? we never know. So it is very important to repend as soon as we commit a sin and immediately throw ourselves into the hands of our ever loving God.

"Jesus has not abandoned you when you were fleeing from him, so much less will he abandon you now and in the future when you want to love him." (P. Pio- Letters III, p. 622)

IF YOU ARE SAD

"Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not, would I have told you that I
am going to prepare a place for you?

And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way."

Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?"
Jesus said to him, "I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him."

Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father,
and that will be enough for us."
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you
for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father
and the Father is in me?"

PADRE PIO'S WORDS...

"There is no need to be discouraged,
because if the soul continually tries to
improve, in the end, the Lord wil reward
it by suddenly letting it bloom with
virtues like a Flowering Garden."
(P. Pio- VVN, 49)
